Match Preview
New Zealand will be up against the Netherlands in the 6th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 9. New Zealand started their journey on a fantastic note, winning their first match by a huge margin, while the Netherlands played some good cricket at times but failed to make the most of it and lost the match.
New Zealand squared off against England in their last match, where New Zealand won the toss and elected to field. England started decently with the opening stand of 40 runs, but after they lost the first wicket, they kept losing one after the other. It wasnโt until the fifth wicket that they got some decent partnership. Several batters got starts, but none of them capitalised, resulting in a total of 282. In reply, New Zealand lost their first wicket early, but what happened later was a complete carnage of the ball. They did not lose a single wicket after-on, with both the batters scoring their centuries and winning the match by nine wickets in a bossing manner with almost 14 overs still in the bank.
The Netherlands played against Pakistan in their last match, where the Netherlands won the toss and elected to field. Pakistan did not start too well, losing three wickets in the first powerplay itself. Then came the pair of Rizwan and Shakeel, who played some gorgeous shots as they notched up their fifties and pushed the team to a total of 286. The Netherlands bowled really well to restrict Pakistan at such a total, and even in the chase, they looked to dominate the match at one point. However, Pakistanโs bowlers came back to the match and pulled things back, winning the game by 81 runs.
